Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One
Celebration - Grand Opening of the Allen Temple Life Activity Center, dedicated to the legacy and vision of Rev. Donald H. Jordan, Sr. at Mid-Point Crossing.
The celebration will be on Sunday, November 2nd, 10:00 A.M. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 7080 Reading Road, 45237. The program will include tributes from representatives from Reverend Jordan’s family, friends, associates and community leaders.
Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, in partnership with TriVersity Construction, the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, and DNK Architects will help celebrate the new 10,000 square foot annex. Bond Hills’ oldest African American church in the region, has a long and distinguished history of education outreach and ministry in Cincinnati. Allen Temple begin construction of Swifton Commons Mall in 1998 and built its current facilities at the corner of Reading and Seymour. The church sold the adjoining 25-acre mall property to the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority in 2013 for a community-led redevelopment partnership. We are a part of the renaissance of Bond Hill and we will continue to build not with bricks and mortar, but with compassion, service and love for all” said Rev Alphonse Allen Sr. Pastor. We have had many great leaders in our faith and it will be an honor to celebrate the vision of Rev. Donald Jordan Sr., while he still walks among us” said Woody Keown Pro-Tem of the Stewart Board.
Immediately following our program, we will celebrate the grand opening of the Allen Temple Life Activity Center. The new building provides the Bond Hill community with additional facilities and programming space needed to better serve the Greater Cincinnati community. This free event is open to the community to enjoy entertainment and refreshments as we celebrate the future of Bond Hill and honor the vision of Rev. Donald H. Jordan Sr.
