Calvin Bostic, Jr. was born in Lincolnton, NC on May 3, 1950 to Velma Bostic and the late Calvin Bostic, Sr. He was the second oldest of seven sib-lings. He moved to Cincinnati, OH at an early age and attended Revelation Baptist Church until moving to North Fairmount where he attended Galilee Baptist Church and later in life accepted Jesus Christ.
Calvin, better known as Buster, graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1969. After graduation, he worked for William Powell for 18 years until the company relocated. From there he worked for the University of Cincinnati as an electrician and recently retired from Consolidated Metal, which was a company that he loved and they expressed love towards him.
He loved sports, especially baseball. Buster was very good with his hands. He was known to take things apart and put them back together. He had a passion for working on cars and helping others. In his spare time, he loved watching karate movies. Buster was a great cook. His specialty was potato salad.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his five child-ren, Calvin III, (LaShawn), Anthony, Angela, Adam and Carmen Bostic; his mother, Velma Bostic; five sisters and one brother, Brenda (Lex) Dove, Fred (Claudia) Bostic, Denise (Roy) Brown, Linda Kidd, Jackie Bostic and Sandra (Ervin) Frye; seven grand-children, Jasmyn, Jada, Calvin IV, Alonzo “Junior”, Ar’Monie, Anaya and Ariyah; his special friends, Wayne and Freda; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
