Cornell Wilson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 25, 1948 to Joseph and Bertha Wilson. Most of Cornell’s formative and adolescent years were spent with his Aunt Amy and Uncle Connie in Indianapolis, Indiana.
While in Indianapolis, he attended Purdue University and obtained his bachelor’s degree from University of Cincinnati.
Cornell worked at Indiana Bell from 1966 – 1984 and AT&T in Cincinnati from 1984 – 1998. After retiring from AT&T he worked at Tel Labs for a while.
He loved playing guitar, writing computer programs and bowling. He really, really loved playing golf and has the trophies to prove it!
Cornell’s earthly life ended on Monday, February 12, 2018.
His memory is cherished by his wife, Jeni; their 6 children: Cornell Jr., Terrie, Keisa, Darrell, Carolyn and Wayne (Tracy), as well as 7 grandchildren: Jeashawn, Jaylon, Victoria, Dominic, Olivia, Sophia and Nevaeh.
Cornell’s legacy of love is also shared with his sister, Carolyn Haygood, brothers Larry (Florence) and Riley (Morzel), as well as extended family members and special friends.
