Oh, what a beautiful day it must have been, May 22, 1917 when the thirteenth child of Reverend Joseph and Mrs. Emma Austin was born. Earline Austin grew to be a beautiful person. She was also very helpful and freely gave of herself when called upon. She met the love of her life, John, as she always affectionately called him. From this love, Grace was born. As the years passed, Earline loved to travel and finally settled in Cincinnati where she married Joseph O. Fleming. They became members of Lee Chapel A.M.E. During this time, she had become a hospital attendant in the Labor and Delivery Room at General Hospital where she met many kind people. She began baking and cooking for the church bake sales and her co-workers. Her pen- chant for baking became well-known. Many would ask, “Why don’t you open a restaurant?” How she loved to carry her fresh baked goodies to those who requested them. Mrs. Earline A. Fleming leaves to cherish her memory: a beloved daughter, Grace A. Davis; granddaughter, Beverly L. Davis; great-grandchildren, Kendall Harris, Jr. (Anika) and Phillip Harris (Juanita); great-great-grandchildren, Khalia, Kaniyah, Kendall, Kristen, Kaia, Kenya and Kacey; grandson, Darrell A. Davis (Martica); great- grandchildren, Aja, Debreon and Talon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
