November 24, 1927 – November 15, 2017
Adv. Sr. Mtr. Erlene Pollard was called from labor to reward on November 15, 2017, at Mercy Fairfield Hospital in Fairfield OH.
Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard was one of two children born to the late St. Martha Ann Elizabeth & Clarence Graves. Her infant brother, father and mother preceded her in death.
On March 7, 1947, Bishop T. Malachi and Adv. Sr. Mtr. Erlene Pollard united in Holy Matrimony. From this union four children were born: Vivian, Tellers Jerome, Ronald and Miriam.
Through two of the Pollard’s small children who visited and joined The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob early in the year of 1955, the unseen hand of God then caused Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard to become a member later that same year, along with a third child. Later in their journey with the church, the Pollards were blessed to have a fourth child who was blessed to be born a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob.
Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard loved God and His People. In her early days in the church, she worked hard and took pride in her responsibilities. In the 1960’s she was licensed to the junior ministry and later ordained to the Motherhood. In the 1970’s she was elevated to the rank of Senior Mother. In the 1980’s she was consecrated to the rank of Advanced Senior Mother.
During her journey she missionaried to various parts of the vineyard including but not limited to Pontiac MI; Chicago IL; St Louis, MO; Richmond KY; Anderson and Indianapolis IN.
In 1989, Bishop T. Malachi and Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard were sent to Dallas Texas.
They remained in Dallas TX for 24 years until the passing of Bishop T. Malachi Pollard in 2013, at which time she relocated to Ohio where she was a faithful and valiant member of the Loveland, Ohio congregation.
It is this same faithfulness to God and love for our Father that causes us to love the Memory of Adv. Sr. Mtr. Erlene Pollard. Her dedication to our Father caused her to work hard and travel with Bishop to see about God’s people. She treated the Saints of God with love and respect as she taught and lived God’s way and plan. As we celebrate her life, we will always remember Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard’s smile as she greeted the saints; especially rejoicing when she heard her favorite song, “Good Things Are Being Done In God’s Kingdom”. Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard would always say in her testimony with, strong conviction “This church has been mighty good to me!”
To cherish her memory, Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard leaves her children: Mother Vivian (Elder Overton) Barbour; Deacon Tellers Jerome (Elderess Linda) Pollard, Presiding Elder Ronald (Elderess Kathryn) Pollard and Elderess Miriam (Deacon Cornelius) James; 27 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and a host of great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Adv. Sr. Mtr. Pollard also leaves
2 brothers-in-law and their wives.
Adv. Sr. Mtr. Erlene Pollard looked for and saw the good in all God’s people. She loved life and encouraged us through her preaching and teaching. Therefore, we will not mourn; but we will cherish her life. Whenever Mtr. Pollard would end a conversation or bid a farewell, she would never say “ Good-bye” but would always say “I’ll see you when I see you”. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation and thankfulness for all expressions of gratitude.
