To the family of Freddie Hunt: It is with deep sadness that I extend my condolences to the entire family. Freddie and I were classmates at Central State University and we became good friends. It was always a joy to see Freddie because he always had a smile. We coached against one another in girls basketball and track. It was a great rivalry, and we both loved the competition! I will miss Freddie and the joy that he brought. May God bless and comfort each and every one of you. Remember that "earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal." Shock to hear about Freddie. We worked together years ago at a youth service organization. Hip. He was always so full life. He was the dancing man. Life had no limits. Also, education never ended. His nickname was Maddog. I never called him that, I just always called him by his full name. Freddie Hunt. My prayers to the children and his family. God,S strenght to his wife. God gave a fun and special person. Job well done. Freddie. You knew no fear. Elaine

Yolanda Foster left a message on February 9, 2016:
As a child, my uncle instilled values in my life that I would one day share with my own children. He was a firm believer in education before anything else. My uncle would give me “brain” activities to do, to expand my thought process such as memorizing 10 pages of lyrics (10 yrs old), he taught me how to play chess (12 yrs old), College Math and English workbooks to be completed on weekends (14 yrs old) and so much more. By the time I was 15 years old, my cousins and I would pile up in my uncle's car every Saturday night and he'd drive us to the skating rink. He was determined to make all of us skaters. Today, I skate in several cities, a passion of mine all credited to my magnificent uncle. Freddie Hunt Sr., was a brilliant, loving and diligent man anyone would have enjoyed being in his presence. I love you forever Uncle Freddie AKA Big Freddie. Your Niece, Yolanda F.

I first meet Bro Hunt through a mutual friend. I never meet a person that you could say enjoyed life and lived life the way we all should. I never heard him say a discouraging word about anybody , something I try to incorporate in my life just because of Bro. Hunt. In the city of Cincinnati he will be truly missed. My heart goes out to his family. Party don't cry!!! Mad Dog for life.(For those who knew him you know what I mean) Daryl Swan
Ruth Ellis left a message on February 8, 2016:
I worked with Mr. Hunt at Hays-Porter School!! He was one of the nicest, kindest gentleman you'd ever want to meet. He walked and talked with dignity and extremely respectful...He always wore suits, I never saw him in anything else and always dressed for Sunday morning service (SMILE!!) Mr. Hunt was a walking historian with so much knowledge and information and a museum in his classroom!! Teachers and students that knew him, loved him... One memorable moment...i went to a school happy hour at the beginning of the school year and Mr. Hunt was there...I didn't think that he danced or that he could dance...I just saw him as Mr. Hunt, the well dressed teacher historian...well, much to my surprise Mr. Hunt was up on the floor dancing, laughing, and moving all around the room encouraging others to get up and dance!! Another teacher and I got up and danced with Mr. Hunt...we danced with him through (3) songs, we told him we were tired and we sat down...Mr. Hunt didn't sit down...he seemed to never tire!! He just kept on dancing, laughing and moving around encouraging everyone to GET UP and have a good time..That's when I realized that Mr. Hunt was not just a great teacher & historian...he was a great man who loved & embraced life & living...he always gave of himself to others...that is part of his legacy...I WILL TRULY MISS HIM!!!
