Ecclesiastes 7 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. 2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. "We the members of New Unity Church of God, want the family to know that our hearts are full as we gather together to say farewell to a valiant woman, Mrs. Geneva Lewis, loving spouse of Mr. James Lewis. We have great respect for "Mama Skeeter" and her presence leaves an indelible impact on the Over the Rhine faith community. "Whereas; Mrs. Geneva Lewis demonstrated a great faith in the Creator as expressed in her commitment to service in the community." "Whereas; Mrs. Geneva Lewis "was a great foundation in this community as a seer, historian and mother of the village." "Whereas; Mrs. Geneva Lewis worked with diligence and vigor to achieve the goals of beauty, poise, style, confidence, and dignity, uplifting all who came across her journey in this life." "Whereas; Mrs. Geneva Lewis suffered some physical pain in this lifetime that none of us will ever fully comprehend, yet lived in such a manner to touch each and every one of us with their great example of love and acceptance even while sitting holding court in her wheel chair." "Whereas; the passing of Mrs. Geneva Lewis, a great community leader, has caused a deep void of sadness in the community." "Whereas; Mrs. Geneva Lewis served the Almighty and community well and faithfully." Psalm 116:15 15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. "Therefore be it resolved, that we the New Unity Church of God as a family of the "faith" community will mourn with the family and continue the great work of Mrs. Geneva Lewis." "Therefore be it resolved, that we embrace and mourn with the family because all of us have a common bond." "Therefore let it be known, that we can't replace Mrs. Geneva Lewis but we will attempt to improve our lives and live our lives as demonstrated by the great example of Mrs. Geneva Lewis." "Therefore let it be known, that we honor the deep loss and sorrow your family is experiencing as we share in your sorrow; yet we recognize the Almighty has accepted into His presence a good and faithful servant." Love And Go On You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she’s gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. David Harkins Be it further resolved a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mrs. Geneva Lewis and the completed writ inscribed in the hearts of the New Unity Church of God. respectfully submitted, this seventeenth day of February, the year of our Creator, 2017 New Unity Church of God 1508 Elm St. Cincinnati, Ohio Bishop Frederick P. Simmons, senior pastor

A lady of style shall truly be missed, I grew up hearing about Skeeter (Mrs. "G") her many skills, her love for dancing and just living life to the fullest. As time went on she was called. "Mama Skeeter", for the advice she gave you and about how things were back in the day, she and my mom could reminisce about the fun they had. Skeeter and just to name a few Muchi Cat, Torchie, Caldonia were some of the important ones you didn't forget from the hair stylist to the great dancers well I'm pretty sure they are having a big party now. Mama Skeeter as I always said to you, I wanna be like you when I grow up thanks for the advice you gave me, on the way be yourself baby and stay sweet.
