A TIME TO BE BORN
Geraldine (Jerry) Petty was born to Louise and Julian Davis on January 24, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the second of nine children born. Jerry confessed her faith in Christ at an early age.
Jerry married James H. Petty in 1948. They were married for 53 wonderful years. She gave birth to her son, Ronnie Petty and a daughter, Joyce Ann Petty. Both her husband and son preceded her in death.
Jerry loved school and graduated from Hughes High School with honors. She earned a scholastic scholarship to attend college.
Jerry loved to garden, travel and shop. She also spent some of her spare time watching her favorite TV shows, Jeopardy and the Price Is Right. Her wit and intelligence was still razor sharp.
She possessed a beautiful smile that would light up the room when she entered. She embraced life with such happiness and joy. Jerry was an upbeat person with a kind and gentle heart. She was also known to be quite generous to others. Her church family adored her and affection- ately called her “Mom.”
