Hazel F. Riggs was born in Powder Springs, Georgia on April 29, 1930. She was a daughter of six children born to Edward and Thelma Stiles.
In the 1950’s, Hazel relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio when she was in her early 20’s. She gave birth to three children: Carlton, Kim and Wendy. A few years later, she married Norman Riggs (now deceased) and they lived happily married together for over 25 years.
Hazel was a dedicated worker and retiree from General Electric after 20 years of service. In her spare time, Hazel enjoyed to work on puzzles, word searches and watch her favorite program- ming, The Young and the Restless. When she was not watching TV, you could find her tending to her garden in her front yard. Hazel was also a fan of cooking and eating. Her favorite food was fried chicken. She would always say, “I can eat this everyday.”
Hazel was a truly loving spirit who was very family oriented. She would give anyone her last without hesitation. Hazel’s spirit will always linger with those who she encountered. Known by every- one as “Granny”, she will truly be missed.
She leaves behind: a sister, Marlene; her child- ren, Kim and Wendy; grandchildren, Kenyon, Winston (Shaadi) and Cierra; great-grandchildren, Ky’aira, Lakya and Lorenzo Jones, Jr.; and a host of family and friends.
