Greetings to the family of Pastor Natheniel Young in the glorious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When my family learned that Pastor Young had been called home to be with the Lord, They were in shock for some time. We have been his neighbor for a couple of years and had the privilege of becoming very close family friends. The first time we visited his church, Pastor Young became so filled with the Holy Spirit when he preached. I don't know if I have ever seen a man at the pulpit exhibit such Holy Spirit power in his words. It was clear that his words were inspired by God Himself, and the message was so strong that you could feel God's presence in that church. Yet, when Pastor Young greeted you at the door on the way out of church (something fewer and fewer pastors do these days), you could not help but be struck by the humility, sincerity, and genuine kindness of this noble man. He was truly an anointed servant of the Lord. We thank God for Pastor Nathaniel Young. A remarkable man that we loved so very much. Even when Pastor Young was gravely ill, he kept on doing whatever he could for the Kingdom of God. He loved his work and the people that he reached with great intensity. We the neighbors, also thank God for him and the wonderful example of his life. I rejoice that I could work at his side and glean from his generosity. Mrs. Young, we understand to some extent the pain and emptiness that you all felt at Pastor Young's passing. I'm sure that knowing in your hearts that the Lord had a far more important task for him has provided you with some degree of comfort, but you never really get over missing him. It is apparent from the family's In Memoriam recollections that you were (and are) all aware of how very much you were blessed to know him as a husband and father. The good news, as you all know, is that you will be together in Heaven with him some day, and what a glorious day that will be! The day we get to actually meet our Lord, with the promise of eternity in His service, is what we all long for, and to be reunited with our loved ones who have gone before us....well, that's why it's called Heaven. Our sincerest condolences to you all on the loss of your husband and father. Continue to be strong in your faith, as he would have you do. Seek the Lord in all things and your reward is yet to come, as your beloved pastor Young now knows with certainty. We shall all someday meet again in glory.

My wonderful and loving Pastor will forever be missed. He introduced me to the Lord Jesus Christ and gave me many teachings of his word. I joined Israel Baptist church when i was very young and when I received my right hand of fellowship he said, "Do you Love Jesus?" I said, "yes." He said, "do you love me?" I said, "yes" and my Pastor and I had a wonderful relationship for over 30 years if he ever called upon me I was right there for him. I grew up in the word under his ministry. He baptized me and all my siblings, he gave me my understanding in giving of my tithes and offerings which has been a major blessing on my life. He flew to Florida to officiate my wedding as he did for my siblings, he prayed for me and over me and my husband when my husband was critically ill. He really helped me understand my close personal relationship with Jesus and the strength and power of his word! Most importantly he taught me to know if I died tomorrow where would I go and I know the way to get to Heaven is by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal saviour! I accepted him and knowing my Pastor did as well I am rest assured he is there receiving his crown and being told job well done! I can't thank Pastor enough and I am thankful to Mrs. Roxie for sharing him with all of us. They will always be the best dressed couple I know and I will miss seeing them together dressed to the 9s and matching! I will forever miss him singing at the benediction of church. My favorite song I loved to hear him sing was I Got A Feeling Everything's Going To Be Alright! My parents brought us to Israel Baptist back in the 80s and I thank God he led them there as I wouldn't have become the woman I am today without My Pastor's love and guidance. My deepest condolences to our first lady and his wonderful wife Mrs. Roxie, his children Pam, Pumpkin, Kim and Jr as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he adored. RIP Pastor. Missing you now and always Tarajee (Jenkins) Simmons
