Calvin McDay was born on April 7, 1925 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Cillia Hunn (nee Kellog) and Ellison McDay, who preceded him in death.
Calvin was one of five children. He is preceded in death by Jessie McDay, Robert McDay and Gary McDay. He leaves his sister, Elsie McDay with fond memories and faith to carry on. Calvin attended Woodlawn Public School. He married Willean Hutchinson McDay in 1947 who preceded him in death.
From this happy union came Erain McDay Evans (Willie), Pastor Thomas A. McDay, Hazel McDay Franklin (Wayne), Yvonne McDay Ealy, Gwendolyn McDay Williams, Calvin McDay Jr. (Lisa), Willean McDay Cooper, Otis Jay McDay (Theola).
Deacon Calvin was a devoted member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Church for over 50 years. He was a member of the Men’s Choir and served as a security officer. He was a dedicated member who worked on many building projects over the years. He served faithfully until his health declined.
Calvin will truly be missed and he leaves behind to cherish his memory, Deanna McDay Maye, Dominique McDay, Amanda Bayless Upshaw, Mary Bayless Jones, Eran Evans Katsande, Leanndra Evans Holtzman, Mosa McDay Williams, Christine McDay, Gwen Williams, Lena Cooper, Lee Cooper, Myrianna Cooper, Otis Jay McDay Jr., Theola McDay and a host of other relatives, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
