To the family of Mrs.Flornetta Shivers,A lady that I have known all my life.A member of the same church that I was christened in at 3 weeks old in 1940,QUINN CHAPEL A.M.E..She has lived a great life despite the illnesses.A lady whose mom and dad were friends with my grandparents.the elders of the church and other faithful members. Mrs Shivers not only worked at Quinn but worked with my mom,Edna Clay-Jones when me my sister Cheryl and brother David went to St.Simon's school with her daughter JoyceAnn.She loved dressing and living a fruitful life.Her attendance was every Sunday at Quinn until her illness prevented her from attending but she was much attuned with her weekly bulletins and papers delivered to her by our church member Mrs.Derkson,who made it a habit of picking them up for her and other shut-ins.Mrs Shivers will be missed but she has gone to a better place.The village of Glendale has lost another of their Elders.Rest in Peace you have won your race,but you are with the ones that have gone before you.Make your grand entrance because they all are waiting to welcome you to your Heavenly Home.Beverly
