We will miss Joe Echols, I live in New Jersey, Joe and I were friends as close as Brothers. He was adopted into our family when came to New Jersey on a work assignment. He needed a place to stay, my sister introduced him to my parents. They loved Joe, we became the closest of friends right away and that relationship lasted for many years. We all share the pain of Joe making his transition from physical to spiritual existence. We thank GOD for the many years that we were with our dear Friend and Brother, Joe. Khalid Dixon

There is no way I can adequately describe the impact Joe has had on my life. He taught me how to love myself and others, without any strings attached. He was a gentle, loving soul whom I miss dearly. He had no idea of how much he brought to the lives of those who knew him. I miss you my dear friend.

My heart and prayers go out to the Echol’s family and friends. His absence from our lives is felt while his memories live on. I will always treasure my memories of him. He taught me the meaning of a spiritual friendship. His gentle encouragement led me through my darkest days. He shared the gifts of his spirit. His wisdom was from his humble heart. It showed in his actions and in his words and even in the things he didn’t say, but could be felt. We talked of our regrets for our misspent past. He told me I could not go back to undo what was done, but I could do now as I wished I had done then. The man he had become is the woman I want to be. I don’t know what would have become of me if he hadn’t loved and cared about me. Many blessings for comfort and peace.

Joe was the best! He was optimistic, happy, and just a real joy to be in his presence. I have so many positive memories- The ones I like to remember are when he and Danny would be up to no good. The twinkle in their eyes as they went off on some new adventure just made you chuckle and feel blessed for having known them. Joe was so good to my daughters and an even better influence. He was great with everyone- he was the kind of person that always made you feel special, cared for and felt like we knew each other for ever. The last time I saw Joe he was in the hospital, I had given him a bible. I thought he would appreciate it- and he sure did. I sure will miss you Joe. You are an angel -Holy Name will not be the same- Amory Markham
