Marcia Shank left a message on November 9, 2018:
I saw Marilyn's obituary in Cinti Enquirer and memories flooded back of evenings at work at Bethesda Oak Maternity. We started working there the same day in 1968- I was a naïve, 20 year old new graduate of Bethesda's nursing program, newly married, and Marilyn a wife and mom of boys, and LPN. We bonded immediately even though I was 15 years younger and my skin a different color (remember this was 1968). Over the years, we worked many evening shifts together- if Marilyn was there I knew that she would quietly do her work in her loving, easy going manner and there would be no drama and we would as a team have fun and get everything done even on the busiest of nights. As the years passed , I too became a young mom of boys and we compared notes and stories. Somewhere along the way I lost track of her- life happens - and I would see her at retirement gatherings or reunions of our older staff- always kind and so glad to see me and I felt the same. I just wanted someone to know that she meant a lot to those of us from Bethesda who knew her- all of us were like family to each other at that time. Heaven has gained a wonderful angel. Marcia Young Shank - retired RN from Bethesda Oak and North Maternity .
